Behind the Scenes of the AW26 Vertige Shoot

Every collection begins with a story to tell. Long before the first flashes light up a studio, meticulous work begins behind the scenes. A succession of steps where intuition, precision and creativity come together.

Selecting the Pieces

It all begins with choosing the pieces to be brought into focus for the season. A strategic decision: each product is selected to embody the spirit of the AW26 collection. From this selection comes the creative direction brief. It sets the course and lays the visual foundations for the season.

The challenge? Finding the perfect balance between the Vertige theme, the neo-Baroque aesthetic, Aubade’s DNA and the pieces to be brought to life. A sense of coherence that cannot simply be improvised.

Models and Photographer: A Decisive Choice

Next comes one of the most defining stages of the process: selecting the models and the photographer.

The models will wear the collection throughout the season. They will become its face. Choosing the photographer is equally about their eye and their sensibility. It determines how the pieces will come to life, breathe and connect with the viewer.

Posing: At the Heart of Aubade’s DNA

The heart of Aubade’s DNA takes shape through the work on posing. These key images, particularly the black-and-white shots, are the result of long sessions of discussion, research and fine-tuning. Finding THE right pose for each image is a true art.

At the same time, styling, hair and make-up are developed. Every detail is considered in dialogue with the model’s features and the chosen pose. Nothing is left to chance. Everything must come together as a coherent whole, worthy of the collection’s neo-Baroque spirit.

The Setting: A Parisian Heritage Apartment

Then comes the search for the setting. We explore, visit and compare different locations until we find the one that speaks to the collection.

For AW26, a Parisian heritage apartment was chosen. Ornate mouldings, antique parquet flooring, bevelled mirrors and refined materials: a setting that echoes the season’s sense of vertigo and neo-Baroque opulence. The architecture tells a story, while the Parisian autumn light sculpts each piece with precision.

The black-and-white images, meanwhile, are captured in the studio, where the light can be controlled to perfection.

Shoot Week

Finally, shoot week arrives. The AW26 shoot begins with an entire day dedicated to black and white, in a Paris studio, before moving on to the colour visuals in the apartment during the final days.

This is where everything truly comes together. Posing adapts. Styling evolves. Hairstyles are reinvented in the moment. The search never stops for the image that feels the most right, the most coherent and the most beautiful.

At the end of each day comes the selection of THE photograph. The one that will best capture the soul of this Autumn-Winter collection.

Anticipation and Improvisation, Hand in Hand

This is what goes on behind the scenes of an Aubade shoot: rigorous preparation and creative improvisation, working hand in hand. A collective, demanding and passionate effort, season after season, to keep creating dreams.
